Set up OnKey, step by step
Everything you need to add the keyboard, allow Full Access for AI actions, and use it in your apps.
Add the keyboard
Adding a keyboard on iPhone takes a few taps in Settings. The OnKey app walks you through it, and this is the same path.
Turn on Full Access
OnKey needs Full Access to reach the AI over the internet. Without it, the keyboard cannot run AI actions, though typing still works.
Switch keyboards with the globe
The globe key is how iOS switches between keyboards. OnKey uses it like any other keyboard.
Keyboard not showing
Most of the time the keyboard is simply not switched on yet, or you are in a field where iOS does not allow custom keyboards.
Full Access not working
Full Access is a separate switch from the OnKey keyboard switch, and it is easy to miss.
Use OnKey in messaging apps
OnKey is a keyboard, so it works in any messaging app that has a text field. You do not leave the conversation.
Use OnKey in email
Email is where tone and grammar matter most. OnKey works in the body of any email app that allows custom keyboards.
Use OnKey in notes
Notes are rough by design. OnKey helps when you want a note to become something you can share.
